Braees paradox and traffic jam problem

This is a puzzling question: do not necessarily construct more freeways you reduce traffic jam in big cities. Know why reading this article (Portuguese)

It talks about a curious mathematic paradox known by “Braess Paradox”, motivated by an intention of Sao Paulo public government to extend Marginal freeway, always got stuck in rush hours.

It’s a long post but interesting to read specially if you like Science and Math.
